Warning: Do Not Operate Heavy Machinery

This accident illustrates the importance of carefully reading the labels on your bottles of Vicodin, folks. This happened yesterday afternoon by some numbnuts towing what looks like a crane who thought his vehicle and tow would clear the overpass. It didn't, and what you see is the tow stuck under the bridge. They had to call out the people who get machinery un-stuck from bridges (whoever that is), and traffic was backed up for the rest of the day. It has since been cleared, but not quick enough for a member on my team to get a picture of it. Also, you can see on the left side of the picture a pedestrian taking a picture for himself. Who knew accidents could be entertaining?! Only in Lubbock! :)

(Not fair reporting, in my opinion...they totally made it sound like it wasn't the driver's fault!)

Bumper Stickerz

Saw these Non-PC bumper stickers recently and had to share. The first one I saw on an old POS car in a neighborhood on the south side, and the second I saw while on my morning commute. Man, are Lubbockites cranky or what?

Mitsubishi "Mon-stero"

No, it doesn't live under your bed, it's parked in one of the parking lots on the Tech campus. Just be sure you're not in its path whenever you're on the road, or else...

Midday Ruckus

This happened about an hour ago on 4th and Frankford. A woman driving a red Ford Explorer tore up the front of her car. I don't know what she hit, but I saw the aftermath as I passed by. I'm actually getting tired of seeing wrecks at this intersection. People need to find a new intersection to wreck their cars.

Senior Citizen Hazard

This escapade occurred yesterday afternoon on South Loop near Marsha Sharp Frwy. The driver of the gold Chevy Astro van, an elderly man, lost control and rammed the back of the blue truck in front. The college kid in the blue Honda was probably texting, and who knows what the Air Fast employee in the white truck was doing...maybe he was enjoying a smoke in between jobs? Thanks for the pic, A.

Ghetto Fabulous

Another "quick-fix" made by someone here in Lubbock, seen yesterday by a friend of mine. Notice this person used bungee cords and duct tape used to close the hood shut after, obviously, rear-ending someone. Now that's being resourceful when you're in a jam! Thanks for the pic, S.

Trunk-Poppin, Show-Stoppin!

Another rear-ending near University and the Loop today. This was taken by a friend of mine. Thanks, D.

Rain Rain Go Away

This rear-end happened as I was passing these cars today near 6th & Indiana. I hope the guy in the truck had his trailer hitch installed. I know I do for times like these!

Gone With the Wind

It was awfully windy in Lubbock today. Apparently, so much that it blew this blue Chevy Cavalier right into the oncoming white Suburban as it was pulling out onto 4th from Elkhart. Or, at least, that's the excuse the cavalier (sorry) driver likely made when the police showed up.
