Mall Madness, Part 2

Here's a photo of another wreck taken by a friend of mine on the Loop just west of Slide Rd (the mall). Happened a few days ago. I wouldn't ever think of driving any small-sized car in Lubbock out of concern for my safety! ESPECIALLY not a barbie car like a Mazda Miata...that thing couldn't stand up against the gusting winds of Lubbock without getting blown away!

What Happned Here?

I have no idea what happened to this car, which was hit on S Loop 289 at the Marsha Sharp exit (there was another wreck at this exact location, featured on this blog here). You can see the driver and passenger standing with a cop on the right, looking on at their poor car. If I were any of you reading this, I'd be extra careful when driving in this area next time!

Dude, Nice Parking Job!

Saw this abandoned car while I was getting a Diet Coke at the Wendy's drive-thru on 4th and Frankford. Seriously, no one was in it. Though, sometimes you need a Frosty so damn bad you can't waste ANY time making sure your car is parked out of the way of traffic. Totally understandable.

Ghetto Fabulous, Vol II

Another sighting of a quick-fix solution to keeping closed that pesky door that just won't shut.

Taco Hell

Saw this in the Taco Bell parking lot a few nights ago near the Wal-Mart on 4th and Frankford. Looks nice!

Warning: Do Not Operate Heavy Machinery

This accident illustrates the importance of carefully reading the labels on your bottles of Vicodin, folks. This happened yesterday afternoon by some numbnuts towing what looks like a crane who thought his vehicle and tow would clear the overpass. It didn't, and what you see is the tow stuck under the bridge. They had to call out the people who get machinery un-stuck from bridges (whoever that is), and traffic was backed up for the rest of the day. It has since been cleared, but not quick enough for a member on my team to get a picture of it. Also, you can see on the left side of the picture a pedestrian taking a picture for himself. Who knew accidents could be entertaining?! Only in Lubbock! :)

(Not fair reporting, in my opinion...they totally made it sound like it wasn't the driver's fault!)

Bumper Stickerz

Saw these Non-PC bumper stickers recently and had to share. The first one I saw on an old POS car in a neighborhood on the south side, and the second I saw while on my morning commute. Man, are Lubbockites cranky or what?
